I got to chat with the couple about their design ideas and they have invisioned a beautfiul three tiered wedding cake covered in white fondant with a gorgeous silver grey lace applique (made out of fondant as well) top with a delicate peach coral rose. What a fabulous art project that cake will be. I'd very much love to create it for them and their wedding.
Of course I then shifted gears completely, because the only natural thing to do after a wedding tasting is a children's 6th birthday party! I had a great time waking saturday morning to create full size S'more cupcakes. These delicious creation have an added bonus when they are full size - a liquid chocolate ganache centre. What S'more would be complete without chocolate blending into the marshmallow and graham cracker?
S'more are created in layers within the cupcake cup. First, I start off with a graham cracker crust in the bottom of the cup. Then I fill it chocolate cake batter and bake. Then when they are baked and cool I core out the centre of the cupcake to fill it with liquid chocolate ganache. Then the cupcake is topped with freshly whipped marshmallow topping. I have to let the marshmallow set up a bit, but once it is set I light the torch and toast the marshmallow which gives off that unforgettable aroma of campfire and brullee! The finished product will have anyone, everyone, calling out for s'more.
So with 3 dozen baked, filled, and toasted there was nothing left to do but get to the party. I hope you had a great birthday party with all of your friends Emily. I know I had a great time making cupcakes for you.
I then had to unceremoniously drop onto the couch and veg reading my kindle all day Sunday. What a day of rest, relaxation, and recuperation! I had a great time working through the weekend and really cant wait to do it all over again! So come and get your favorite flavour. I'd love to make it for you!
